An amazing event and fun times with
Moreton Bay Gateball Club.
AGU is holding an International Gateball Competition in Perth, Western Australia on the 28th & 29th March 2020. The event will be held at the Cambridge Croquet Club, 49 Chandler Ave West, Floreat, Western Australian 6014.
The facility in Floreat, Perth, which is in Western Australia has space for 8 full sized Gateball Courts and a state-of-the-art pavilion. The function area seats 100 plus players, with a licensed bar and a commercial kitchen, and overlooks manicured grass courts.
Gateball players from Australia and around the world are invited to attend. Closing date for entries is 28th February 2020.
We had seven teams competing in a friendly triples competition over the weekend. Brilliant weather, great company and loads of fun. The winners were the Ipswich Spikes followed by the Dolphins from Redcliffe.
Members of the Redcliffe Gateball Club and Ipswich Gateball Club attended a Gateball Competition held over the weekend of 16th & 17th of November in Hawaii on the island of O’ahu, the capital of Honolulu. Fourteen (14) players from these two clubs played in two teams called Oz1 and Oz2. Eight (8) teams competed in the competition, which was attended by:
California (Winning Team), Oz1 (Second Place), Maui (Third Place), Oz 2, Hilo, O’ahu, Kauai – 1, Kauai – 2.
The event was organised over the 12-month period by the AGU, with the cooperation of Kathleen Donovan (Tournament manager) in Hawaii representing Waikola Gateball. The tournament was held at the Plantation Estate on the east coast of O’ahu about a one-hour drive from Honolulu. The courts were challenging in that the grass was thick and long in places. All players rose to the occasion and endeavored to win their rounds. It was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. The absence of formality was refreshing with the emphasis on camaraderie being the overriding feature of the weekend. We look forward to hosting Hawaiian Teams in 2020 in the Moreton Bay regional Council area. See some of the photos in our Gallery.
We had very successful Triples Event at the Gold Coast Gateball Club. A big thank you to the club and all who attended (6 teams in total). Congratulations to the winning Teams: Redcliffe Dolphins coming in first and Redcliffe Warriors in a close second.
Fees collected during AGU sponsored events/competitions will be returned to players as follows:
